Royal Exchange Donates to Federal Road Safety Commission Towards EMBER Months

As part of its corporate social responsibility, Royal Exchange Plc recently donated the sum of N0.4million to the 2010 EMBER-months campaign of the Federal Road Safety Commission
Speaking on behalf of the company, Mr. Segun Agboola, who is also the Representative of the Road Accidents Health Insurance Scheme (RAHIS) for Western Nigeria, said that Royal Exchange, “as a responsible corporate citizen, is concerned about the carnage on Nigerian roads especially during the EMBER months, hence it is supporting the FRSC in its efforts to minimize reckless driving and unnecessary deaths”.

Mr Agboola commended the efforts of the FRSC for the EMBER-months initiative which, he acknowledged, had greatly reduced recklessness and avoidable deaths on the nation’s highways. He therefore enjoined the FRSC not to relent in its endeavour but to take the campaign to all nooks and crannies, especially the motor parks and bus terminals.

Responding, the Lagos State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission, Mr Jonas Agwu thanked Royal Exchange Plc for the kind gesture, saying that such support would go a long way in making the EMBER-month campaign more impactful.

Road Accident Health Insurance Scheme (RAHIS) was launched on 28th July, 2009 in conjunction with the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) to cover death, bodily injury or disability to drivers and passengers of NURTW on inter-state journeys.
Royal Exchange General Insurance Company Ltd is a co-underwriter of on the Road Accident Health Insurance Scheme (RAHIS).
